All good trilogies must come to an end, when that end comes you either go big or go home. The Ghost of Sparta plans on doing just that with the third and final installment, “God of War III.” It’s Kratos vs the gods in what could be, and may be, one of the bloodiest and wildest games on the Playstation 3. The development team, Sony Santa Monica, wanted to focus on three points when creating God of War III. First, creating and action game that would define all future actions games of the generation. The second point was creating groundbreaking moments of play. The third point was redefining the sense of scale to an unseen level. “We’re going to be introducing groundbreaking gameplay this time around, and that all starts and ends with our Titan gameplay. It’s all about scale,” Stig Asmussen (Project Director). line-height:115%;font-family:"Verdana","sans-serif""> "Verdana","sans-serif""> To refresh your memories (or to partially spoil the fun), at the end of God of War II Kratos was seen on the back of a Titan leading ancient deities to battle against the remaining gods atop Mount Olympus. In God of War III these Titans are going to be “living, breathing, functioning” parts of the world. On his quest to destroy Olympus Kratos is going to be battling on these Titans, which are levels, and inch his way closer to accomplishing his goal. “They’re truly living, breathing, spectacles that I believe are going tochange how people look at games,” said Asmussen. They wanted gamers, from beginners to the most experienced, to be able to learn the controls and feel at home right off the bat. However, some things have been tweaked to make the gameplay more dynamic. Instead of having to assign weapons in the pause menu, you will be able to switch between any weapon at any time. This will now allow you to create branching attacks using two or more weapons in a single chain combo. Long range, short range, and area attack weapons can all be used to create a deadly combination of blows.
