This release has been years in the making for the Playstation network and has many gamers antsy and on the edge of their seats. With sexy cars, amazing graphics and an incredible feel to the game, Polyphony Digital has proven yet again that it is a master of the genre. In fact, GT5 will have an even larger selection of exotics and muscle then Gran Turismo 4, a vehicle list of over 700 cars. For the first time in Franchise history, congrats btw, Polyphony Digital was able to license Ferrari’s vehicles. Porsche and Lamborghini look out because GT5 will be coming for you. Another franchise first would be the inclusion of motorcycles, but to the founder of Polyphony Digital, Kazunori Yamauchi, that is just a goal for the time being. Gamers will be able to connect to each other all over the world and race. While offline gameplay can be up to 16 players, online you will only be able to max out at 12. These numbers are subject to change as the game gets polished as the release draws closer. Gameplay will feature full voice options so players can either chat it up as they drive or enjoy the realistic experience and turn that off. Polyphony palns on offering plenty of integration with Playstation Home, but it isn’t clear what will work and what will not. Also, it is speculation that you may have a virtual garage to park your cars in. I can tell you that you will be able to go directly from the game to Home and back again. My Page is a fully customizable profile that shows where you are and what it’s like at that location. My Page will be mostly a part of the online portion of the game but will also act as a starting point in the single player career. You will be able to access your Garage, TV, Album, Options, Profile, Home, and Calendar. The Event Calendar shows upcoming races you can participate in and the TV saves the replays of completed races. Pre-race you can see your car being worked on by your crew in a garage, these scenes will feature HDR, ray-traced lighting. These shots look amazing and will easily rival any pre-rendered footage.
