DLC for Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light Announced

DMG Author:

August 18th will mark the beginning of the downloadable Lara Croft series starting with the release of Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light on the Xbox live marketplaceYes you have read it correct I did just type the word series, apparently Crystal Dynamics will be dropping 5 packs from October to December that will expand the life of the single player. The first 3 packs will be full on expansions offering new puzzles, combat and new areas to the game while the other 2 packs are character packs, featuring well-known video game characters. As many of you already know, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light will be the first Tomb Raider game to offer co-op but that feature won’t be available till the September 28th date when the game is out for all platforms. I must say that this is some real sh*tty news to all those who are waiting for this release, I’m starting to think that Crystal Dynamics is doing this just to even the playing field on the Xbox timed exclusive.

We also won’t be getting full leader board support till the September 28th date. I won’t say that this information is enough to not warrant a purchase of the game but I will say it does make me want to buy it for the Xbox on the 28th of September instead of first day like I planned. No matter how much anger I'm feeling about this bad news I am still very pleased by the news of having full support for the title through out the whole year of 2010. For this full featured Lara Croft series Crystal Dynamics has created a new meaning to DLC ”Downloadable Lara Croft”.

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light will be available on Xbox August 18, 2010 as part of the Xbox Live Arcade’s Summer of Arcade for 1200 MS Points and for PlayStation Network and Steam on September 28, 2010 for $14.99.
