Long Awaited EA SPORTS MMA Demo Arrives September 28th

After Months of waiting I am proud to announce that gamers will get a chance to get their hands on EA Sports MMA with the arrival of the demo falling on September 28th on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The demo will feature 4 fighters from 2 weight classes: heavyweight and middleweight. The fighters lined up for the heavyweight weight class are: Strikeforce heavyweight champion, Alistair Overeem and former TNA/WWE Pro wrestler, Bobby Lashley. And the middleweights are: former Strikeforce Middleweight champion, Jake Shields and host of MTV’s Bully Beat Down, Jason “Mayhem” Miller. I was hoping they would put Brett Rogers and Fedor Emelianenko in the demo so we could recreate Fedor’s debut fight for Strikeforce, but I’m still very happy with what fighters we can use.
 
 
The playable features packed in the demo are “Fight Now” and “MMA 101”. The “Fight Now” feature will allow players to choose 4 fighters across 2 weight classes and face off through four different skill levels. The “MMA 101” feature is a tutorial on the game. The demo will also provide information on the additional features in the full game. For those that plan on buying the game they will have the ability to unlock “classic” Randy Couture as a playable character in the full game if they share the demo with their friends.
 
EA Sports MMA is really stepping up to the plate as far as graphics and gameplay in the MMA genre. As a fan of MMA you should be very happy with how the level of competition that EA is bringing will force THQ to step its game up. While the UFC series still owns the crown for best and only MMA fighting game, EA is going real hard to take it from them. The full game will be available on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on October 19.
