Mortal Kombat demo date announced and details on 300 level Challenge Tower mode revealed!!!!!!!!!!

Thursday March 3rd 2011: Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and NetherRealm Studios announce a demo for the highly-anticipated fighting game, Mortal Kombat. Available on March 8^th, this action-packed demo puts the fight into the hands of the gamers and offers them the chance to master iconic warriors Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Mileena and Johnny Cage in two of the games most renowned arenas - the Living Forest and the Pit. The demo features the arcade ladder for one or two players.

The demo will be available exclusively for PlayStation®Plus members globally for the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system on March 8th and then open to all PlayStation®Network users worldwide on March 15^th.

The demo will later be available for download on Xbox Live for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft.

The newest chapter of Mortal Kombat, legendary fighting game franchise, marks a triumphant return to the series’ roots in the fastest and most brutal instalment to date. Available on April 21 for PS3 and 360, Mortal Kombat goes back to a mature presentation and reinvents its classic 2D fighting mechanic in addition to adding new game-play features including tag team, a deeper story mode, and nostalgic arcade battle online and offline. Players will be able to choose from an extensive line up of the game’s iconic warriors and challenge their friends in traditional 1 vs. 1 matches as well as several new game modes. Exclusive to the PlayStation 3, fans will be able to play as and against infamous God of War fighter Kratos and take advantage of the game in Stereoscopic 3D. The game is being developed by the newly re-named NetherRealm Studios, led by Mortal Kombat creator and creative director Ed Boon.

On top of the news of the demo's release date NetherRealm Studios are giving fans an inside look at Mortal Kombat’s 300 level Challenge Tower mode, which includes the return of old favorites like Test Your Might and Test Your Sight as well as several new additions. The filthiest and bloody godfather of fighting games is here to take the crown of best fighting game for 2011 and we can't F***ing wait!!!!!!!!!!. As a huge Xbox 360 gamer I must say the news of us getting the demo late is pretty lame but atleast we get a taste of this game soon. They have chosen just the right characters for this demo, I mean c'mon who doesn't want to get an early feel for sub-zero or scorpion? I'm very stoked that they are bringing back the pit and the living forest because it just wouldn't be that great of a return to 2d without the fan favorites. And as far as this 300 level Challenge Tower mode,  MK is known for packing their games to the brim with tons of features so this is nothing new. Now lets get ready to "Finish him!!!!!!!" and put the soul of our enemies in someones eyeball lol.
